Vision Aid believes that assistive devices are very important in rehab of a vision impaired person. It has done research and published a monograph on the subject in collaboration with Rockefeller Bellagio Center. The monograph is available at a nominal price from vizag@visionaid.org.
Assistive Devices admittedly give only a marginal sight enhancement of around 5%. But considered subjectively from the point of view of the vision impaired person, it may take the person from a position of near zero to a positive percent which is an improvement of > 100%.
