Empower 2019, New Delhi

EMPOWER 2019, IIT New Delhi

India’s premier conference on assistive technology was held at IIT Delhi Soaped campus between the 14th and the 17th of October.  It is organized to bring together all stakeholders in the assistive technology sector. Vision-Aid hosted a session  on the 16th of October to present an innovative application of AI-based technology for the blind, developed by young Boston innovator Sid Anantha. Earlier in the year, Sid had traveled to different Vision-Aid centers to field test his device. At the conference, Vision-Aid team member, Justin who is himself blind, explained the concept of spatial awareness and how this device is addressing the issue with AI and echolocation. audience received it enthusiastically.
